This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from low income families where reading is not an important influence in their lives.

My classroom is full of eager learners who find value in reading. They face daily life challenges at home, so I want to provide the best possible learning experience for them here at school! They come to school happy and ready to learn each and every day. The teachers at my school work hard to foster a love for learning and doing what is best for our students. Reading is the key to success for our students and we want to instill that love of reading in every way possible.

My Project

The listening station would benefit my students by allowing them to independently listen to read aloud stories in workshop. I am requesting 6 CD players and 6 noise canceling headphones so students are able to listen to a story. My school has a collection of books on CD, that my students will be able to access and enjoy with our new CD players.

Students love to listen to books and this would give them the opportunity to do that much more often.

These listening stations may seem like a small addition to a classroom, but they will make a BIG difference!
