This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This is my fourth year teaching at a Title I school. My students come from different backgrounds and cultures in a low socioeconomic community. Every student at our school has free breakfast in the classroom and free lunch. These students spend most of their day in our classrooms and eat two out of their three meals of the day at our school. School is a place where these students can feel safe, nurtured and loved. Even though my students may face challenges every day, they always have a smile on their face.

My students are always excited to learn and develop their brains.

I want to continuously inspire them in their love of learning. In order to properly do this, I need to provide them with the necessary resources and support to reach their full potential.

My Project

Our district pays for many computer programs that enhance student learning at school and at home. We have programs for math and reading that allow for students to do independent tasks that work on their individual learning goals. Each student in the classroom is designated a laptop to work on these programs. In order for students to get the maximum benefit of these programs individual headphones are needed. This allows for the students to stay focused on their individual learning task with little distraction. Please help my students get equal access to their computers and the programs they have available to them!
