My Students

If you walk into my classroom on any given day, you will see students using smartphones, tablets and laptops. In our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint, we are trying to go paperless. However, there are times that students need to write and draw.

I want my students to demonstrate their success not only by what they know, but what they can do with what they know.

Research indicates that sketching or drawing information helps students learn. From my own experience, drawing with chalk helps my students memorize better than drawing on paper. It is a fun activity where the kids truly learn and demonstrate their knowledge.

My Project

Giving students a worksheet is not often motivating or engaging. However, my students LOVE writing on the lab tables and beg to do more activities this way. One box of markers will last a year or more.

Students can bring concepts to life by drawing with the liquid chalk markers on our tables, adding an extra element of fun while learning.

We have very limited supplies of liquid chalk markers now, and I do not have enough for each student or even each table. This limits the amount of activities we can do and the amount of students than can participate.
