My Students

My students attend a Title I school in Apopka, Florida where our mission is "With the support of families and the community, we create enriching and diverse pathways that lead our students to success."

The poverty rate at our school is 66%, and many of my children come from very low socioeconomic backgrounds.

Our entire school receives free meals, and a large number of our students are English Language Learners. I want to ensure that school is a safe and encouraging environment for them to learn and grow as citizens.

My Project

I will be providing distance learning math and science lessons for two classes of 5th graders this school year. With this project I am hoping to improve the quality of my live lessons so that my students can see and hear my instruction clearly.

By having an external webcam, memory card, lights, and a bluetooth headphone/microphone I will be able to utilize classroom resources like my whiteboard to teach more naturally, film quality videos, and increase the quality of my instruction.

I look forward to utilizing these materials to feature math manipulatives and science experiments in a way that my students feel like they are in the classroom.
