Many of my students live in less than ideal conditions, because of this they do not have access to books to read at home. There is also a smaller chance they their families encourage them to seek out books on their own. I want to ensure that my classroom library offers my students quality books to allow them an escape. I want my books to take them on adventures to far off places, with amazing characters, and to learn a thing or two from the past. By implementing daily silent reading time I have a goal for each student to read 2+ novels a month by the end of the school year, and books like the Newbery Classroom Library Builder and Fairytale Classroom Plays will help!
