My Students

My students are some of the most important people in my life. For many of them, the knowledge that I believe in them is what sparks them to move past their fears and struggles and "I can't" attitude, to an "I can do hard things" attitude. We are 21st Century learners and love our STEM centered classroom.

Eager, energetic, hard-working, willing to accept a challenge...these are just some of amazing adjectives that describe my students.

Our school has a diverse pool of learners and socioeconomic situations. Within moments of coming in on the first day of school, my students know that they are in a place where they can and will learn, grow, and be successful. We learn that mistakes are okay and help us improve. We believe that learning is hard work and worth it. My students know that they are in a place where no one will ever give up on them.

My Project

In a 21st Century learning classroom, opportunities to demonstrate learning are limitless - with the right resources. A full green screen studio will provide several classes within our school, across multiple grade levels, the opportunity to demonstrate learning in ways that are new and innovative. Students can demonstrate research projects presented in the location they have studied. Imagine news broadcasts from the scene of historical events with interviews of important historical figures. Detailing the design process of technologies of the past and future with the inventors who made it possible or in the future they envision.

A green screen studio will allow creativity for all students and allow students who cannot always express themselves in written form an opportunity to display their learning in a new and engaging way for them and their audience.

In today's high tech world, students need to know how to interact and communicate more than just through a chat, message, or email. A green screen studio will allow them to practice important communication skills in ways that excite them and engage those around them.

Our students will be "Ready for their close-up, Mr. DeMille!" They will be excited to share their learning with their classmates, parents, teachers and students around the school and within the community.
