Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Last school year, 2018-2019, our staff identified 3,335 homeless students. This is 37% of our district! All of our students automatically qualify for free or reduced-price lunch due to the economic status of our community. Many of our parents are employed as field workers, where paychecks can be small or sporadic, especially in winter when there is not as much work. More than half of my class speaks English as their second language, and some have special needs. With that being said, they all love to come to school and want to learn. They deserve all the resources we can give to help them to be successful in school.
My Project
As we begin the new school year, educators have to prepare for both a traditional and virtual setting. As we are learning to navigate our new norm, I want to make learning just as interactive and engaging as in the classroom by ensuring that students continue to receive quality and rigorous instruction.
This project will provide me with tools that will help my lessons stand out.
The purchase of the ring light will allow for high-quality demonstration of hands-on skills that can be implemented in both the traditional and virtual settings.
We also need help to label the play kitchen area with labels to help our English Language learners see more English print and this will help them in their reading of the English Language. Thank you for all your support and love.
