Students at my school come together from many different backgrounds and abilities to create a beautiful community that we call home. We have both self-contained Montessori classes and self-contained gifted classrooms, as well as our mainstream classrooms, so we are able to meet a large variety of learning styles and student needs.
My students are curious about how the world works, and I try to foster that curiosity with project-based curriculum, and hands-on learning experiences.
Our space is a place where we can come together and build while exploring concepts in science, the arts, engineering, and more. My students will have hands-on technical training as well as traditional learning along with analysis and debate.
My Project
In our digital world, the next generation of students become increasingly more tech-savvy every year. In Film Studies students will explore the history of cinema, examining the the elements of filmmaking including, screenplay, acting, directing, cinematography, lighting, sound, and editing.
The goal for the class is for the students to be able to write and produce their own films; by funding this project, you will help my students showcase their creativity in an increasingly digital world.
Since we already have the computers to do editing and writing, equipment to actually record our projects is the final piece of the puzzle. The blu-ray player will allow me to screen additional films in class, while the camera, gimbal, and green screen provide additional tools for the students to use in class to film projects.
