Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach at an inner city school in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am the English/Language Arts teacher of 75 fourth graders. The students at our school work hard to achieve their goals. There is a schoolwide initiative to read at least 25 books during the school year. Almost 80% of our students in the school achieve this goal every year.

Every teacher cares deeply about each and every student at our school.

The kids know that. Their smiling faces and feelings of joy when they are learning is so rewarding.

My Project

The speakers will help us hear the audio when we learn about different topics. The beanbag refill will fill our two flat beanbags that no one can sit on right now. The snacks will be for motivation and just plain snack time to fill our growling bellies in the late afternoon.

This is our very first request from DonorsChoose.org.

Please help us with our request. If you do, we will be so blessed to have these things. Right now, we have to listen from the teacher's laptop, which is not the best sound system for a class of 25 kids.
