This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come to school each day, ready to learn and explore the world around them. They are inquisitive, full of energy and aren't afraid to take risks. Each have their own unique learning styles and thrive with opportunities for teamwork and collaboration. As their teacher, it is my responsibility to nurture and develop their learning styles with the use of technology to help prepare them for the 21st Century.

Many students in my classroom come without the basic skills in technology because it isn't readily available to them at home.

However, my students are always curious and eager to get their hands on a computer. They become excited about infusing their own creativity via the use of technology! Because they are 21st century learners, they must be prepared to keep up with the constant changes that are taking place in the digital world we live in.

My Project

Having an additional iPad in my classroom will provide my students the opportunity to increase their technology skills and prepare them for the digital world we live in! Every year, we have our Magnet Film Festival and the students work hard to create their own mini documentaries. Having only one iPad in my classroom is challenging for 26 students. Having another iPad in the classroom will improve and strengthen my students video editing skills, such as split clips, photos, sound tracks, adding transitions, and using green screen features. Not only will having this iPad improve their skills in technology, but it will also help reinforce their research skills, basic keyboarding skills, word processing, and web navigation as they prepare to showcase their mini documentaries.
