My Students

I have been teaching 7th & 8th Graders for most of my 25 years. I have been teaching in this district for 19 years. Our Middle School was 6th-8th grade, due to lower enrollment, we just welcomed the districts 5th graders into the building, which houses about 150 students per grade level. The 7th & 8th graders are very energetic! When they are given the opportunity to create, they use high level thinking skills and rise to the occasion.

We have about 40% of the students on free and reduced lunch-low income families.

My Project

Currently our middle school Video Production class is using 15 year old laptops to video record/edit/publish commercials and student created shows. Having updated Dell - Inspiron Laptops will make the filming process more efficient for the 27 students so their final products are ready to viewed daily by our campus students.

The show must go on!

Having this Video Production class is unique to middle schools in the country and I want to keep the class as a course option. The updated equipment will be exciting for the students and myself.

You never know who will be the... next actor, set designer, make-up artist, script writer, editor, director! They may be a Sault Area Middle School Alumni!
