About My Students

Kenna and Jaylinn are students in our EAST program at Dover Middle School in Dover, AR, and they are taking on this project: Lights, Camcorder, Action. In our school, we have a total of 455 students in grades 5-8. About 268 of the students are considered low income, and we are a title one school. The free and reduced lunch rate is about 60 percent of our school. Our students are proud to be the Dover Pirates, and we would appreciate your contributions to our project. Thank you so much for supporting us!

Our students will be able to learn more about technology and videography. In the future, the skills could help the students become producers, directors, etc. We also hope to start live broadcasting our school news. With the camcorder, we hope that more students will be engaged in learning technology in our EAST classroom. This way, they could be more encouraged to pursue projects and learn about teamwork.

In Their Own Words

We are trying to get better technology in our EAST program. Also we want to be able to make more advanced movie projects. With the camcorder we will be able to bring more kids into the videography field. This item could really improve any of our projects that we want to pursue.

We will be able to have more use with technology, so that we can take projects into our own hands. With the camcorder, more students will be able to create whatever kind of project they can imagine. Over time, they will learn so much that they would be able to teach other students.

It is important to us because we want to be able to create more advanced movies. EAST is all about community based projects, so having more advanced projects could get the message out clearer. We want to be able to get more information out to our school by doing a live broadcast. Our project will solve the problem of blurry videos and we hope to get more people into the video field.
