My Students
My sixth and seventh graders are great learners and thinkers. They have great personalities and are curious about the world around them. Most of the students live in and around the South Bronx. Despite the trials and tribulations that many students have gone through, in their short lives, they eagerly come to school, because they know that it is a safe place, where they can learn and grow. Many students come to school ready to learn academically, and unbeknownst to them, socially.
My Project
"Again the projector blew out," one of my students complained as the red light on the projector showed that the lamp was busted.
"Sorry guys," I said as I rolled the projector cart away.
We are just going to have to move on to the reading, no video today.
"Awww man, this is wack!" A student said as I handed out the readings on Day Zero in South Africa." I really wanted to watch the video, it will help me understand."
"Don't worry guys, soon I will get a new lamp," I responded.
The projector is the hub of learning in my classroom. My students copy down their Aim and Do Now, they watch videos, read along to Hamiltion lyrics and copy notes. These lamps will power the projector in order for my students to help understand Social Studies.
