I work at a Saint Paul Public School whose focus is on Science, Technology, engineering, and Mathematics. Our school is next to a regional park that consists of 1,840 acres of a natural area located just outside a highly developed urban environment. Students are able to explore areas of the woods, wetlands, and grassland that attract many species of wildlife.
The preschoolers that enter our building are eager to take in knowledge and they need real experiences where they can gain background information to further their creativity and spark lifelong learners.
My Project
The materials I am requesting will allow the students to explore math concepts in a fun and engaging way!
The magnetic pattern blocks, magnetic tiles, and giant beads will be used to help the students learn about shapes, patterns, counting and colors!
All of these math materials will spark wonderful conversations, encourage social skills, and allow them to foster math concepts that will be needed as they continue on throughout their years in school.
I can't wait to see how these materials will be used and how creative the students will get as they explore how these open ended materials can be used during play!
