This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan has been one of our staple, central texts for the past 5+ years in ELA. We spend an entire academic trimester reading, referencing, and analyzing this text, which leaves many copies torn and tattered beyond repair by the time we finish. This year I have more copies than ever that need to be replaced.

Help me provide my incoming students with fresh, new copies of this curricular text to excite them about reading.

I’m an avid believer that the better condition a text is in, the more encouraged students will be to read it. The fulfillment of this project will assist with infusing novelty back into my classroom, with the hopes of engaging every student in their learning experience.
