The urban district in which my students attend school is very diverse. A large percentage of my students are from low income households. Many students receive free or reduced lunch and are provided breakfast each morning. Even though these students are surrounded by hardship in their lives, they come to school every day ready and willing to learn.
My present classroom is full with eager children who enjoy learning.
They are happy to work together. I want to provide them with every opportunity to become productive learners.
I am requesting a light table and different manipulatives for my students to use during their day. The light table will help my students learn the alphabet, how to count, sort, and be creative all in a fun way. The table will enhance my instruction because it will allow the children to explore color and light while learning. The light table will grab their attention and keep the my students motivated to learn new and fun things. In addition to literacy and math I will be able to infuse science into my students with the light table and the manipulatives.
