Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are so sweet, kind, and grateful. They are in 2nd and 3rd grade, and are living in homes with very low-incomes. The students have autism and other developmental disabilities. They receive instruction in Math and Reading in a separate classroom from their peers. Learning is really hard work for them, and sometimes they come to school sad or upset because of things that have happened at home. The Bubble Fish Tank Tower will be engaging and relaxing. The students will look forward to seeing it each day. The Flowing Sand Frame will help them relax and take their mind off of their struggles. These sensory items will help them regulate their feelings, so they can have great days at school. Despite their disabilities, and the hardships their families face they come to school every day eager to learn.
