Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My pre-k students live in a very low-income area in Dallas, Texas. In our school, our goal is to prepare them with the necessary skills and knowledge to be successful. My students' age range is from early four to early five years-old. They are eager to learn new things and engage in fun and exciting learning activities. They like to learn by playing games, creating and teaching each other and me.
My students make me smile every day and give me the inspiration to do my best in the classroom.
My Project
My students will benefit a lot from these light covers. Some of my students complain of headaches and hurting eyes almost on a daily basis. I’ve found out through reading and research that the harsh glare from flourescent lights may be a contributing factor to these symptoms.
Besides the health benefits from these light covers, I’ve read that some children are more attentive and engaged in softly lit spaces.
I think that by using these light covers my students will feel better and more relaxed which will help them focus better on our daily learning. Hopefully your donations will make this goal possible.
