My Project

A goal of my classroom is to meet my students' sensory needs. It's important to me that when they enter my classroom, it's perfectly set up for them to learn. I don't use the overhead, bright, lights. Instead, I use hanging lamps and LED lights. I also believe in hands-on, sensory-based learning experiences.

Having a light table and light table accessories (counting cubes, counting and sorting buttons and unicorns, letters and numbers, tracing cards) will give my students hands-on access to make meaning of their learning in ways that they typically wouldn't be able to in a "traditional" classroom.
