The students that are in 3rd grade this year are a unique group. They have not had a traditional year of school since Kindergarten. This means that they need more assistance with social agreements and interactions. Due to this it is imperative that the classroom use many collaborative and hands-on activities to best meet their needs.
My class currently has 23 students, but projects will be used at the grade level.
Of my 23 students only 3 read at grade level.
My Project
These circuit boards will allow my students to interact with electricity and better understand the movement of light energy. These boards will take a concept that can be very difficult for the students to grasp and turn it into something that is concrete for the students to work with. It will encourage the students to work with more in the STEM realm and create a more conducive learning environment within the classroom. These circuit boards will be shared as a grade level and will give under privileged students a chance to engage with higher level materials and concepts.
