This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from all walks of life. Some were born in Los Angeles others, new to California or even the United States. They are creative, hard working, passionate kids. As a class they come alive through their culture and thrive on the ability to work as a team with the aid of manipulatives and visuals. Whether they are artists, performers or academics they all connect as visual and kinetic learners.

My Project

Dear Reader,

As a first year science teacher and native Angelina, it is important for me to teach in my community and bring a creative approach to Physical Science education.

This project will help students access spectrometry, wave forms, and chemical behaviors conceptually while helping them find creativity in critical analysis.

Hollywood High School is a title 1 school, my students range in learning styles and Learning Exceptionalities. My students will benefit greatly form these learning tools which will help conceptualize difficult and advanced topics while reconnecting to that childhood "wow" factor of science. Through spectrum tubes and a Chladni plate students will explore STEAM project based learning and new ways of finding scientific solutions to real world problems.

Please help make science education equitable. Without your support this effort will not be possible.

I hope this project and mission speaks to you and you are able to help foster a safe and creative learning environment in which students are able to critically engage in scientific dialogue and problem solve for the future.
