This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are high schoolers with Autism Spectrum Disorder. They are incredible, magical kids who love SpongeBob, basketball, busses, and music. We are building an apartment at school to focus on their daily living skills. There, they will do laundry, cook, clean, make their bed, and learn how to be functional, independent adults.

In order to grow independence, we need some supplies such as pots and pans, mixing bowls and utensils.

We are supplementing what we already have with some things every student will use one day. By purchasing kitchen and bedroom materials, students will be able to grow their independence.
