My Project

Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Beckwith-Weideman Syndrome, seizure disorder, ADHD, mood regulation disorders...these are just a few examples of some of the unique developmental challenges that my students deal with each day.

We often take for granted the ease we have as adults in accessing emergency services, knowing how to keep ourselves safe, using common household tools, accessing and using tools for personal hygiene, how and who to access in the community, and how to use kitchen items safely and effectively.

Students with developmental disabilities have to be explicitly taught how to acquire these skills that are essential to leading an independent life.

These materials will help to support my unique learners in developing important life skills by introducing and exposing them to repeated practice in fun and meaningful ways.
