This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Learning to sew will provide children with a creative way to build self-confidence, learn patience and logic as they follow a pattern, and even develop dexterity and fine motor skills. Watching students embrace their creativity through sewing and crafting will help encourage and build reading, math, and organizational skills. These skills will help them as they go through life, and learning to sew will provide them with a valuable skill that will enable them to create items that they may need or want, now and in the future. Learning to sew gives them the skills to mend clothing, make blankets/quilts, pillows, curtains, and even design their clothing. The final products will be things that they can show off and be proud of.
