This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The end of the year for seniors is always an exciting time as they begin to accept college offers, enlist in the military, explore future careers, and let's be honest....celebrate the biggest achievement of their life so far!

In celebration of this, we host a College Signing Day event where students are recognized for their paths: College, Trade Schools, Military, and/or Apprenticeships.

As you know, these past few years have been incredibly unique and equally difficult for our students and families. We would love to be able to provide them with one last congratulations by raffling off items that will help them in their future endeavors.

This project was created after learning about the impact COVID-19 has had on many of our students. We heard many stories of students who were missing out on basic needs and our school used the district and community resources to help meet these. However, students also shared that: they had to use their own money to support family rent & groceries, they did not receive Christmas & birthday gifts, and their ability to buy fun things had been taken away. They are struggling to pay for school, housing, and food, so comfort and incentive items have taken a back seat.

With your support, we could provide them with gift cards as an incentive or reward. These gift cards will be used to purchase comfort items for their dorm room and post-graduation. We believe this will send them off to their new adventure with a positive start.
