Library Reads Through Olympics, Elections, and More
Help me give my students new learning experiences through an updated set of read-aloud books, which will allow us to explore the Olympics, the importance of voting in elections, and other fun topics!

My Project
These books will make a difference in my students' learning by allowing them to explore more topics and connect our read-aloud books to our class activities. For example, we will learn about the Olympics through reading and discussion, as well as host our own Olympic events. Additionally, we will learn about voting and elections before voting in our own election where two sets of book characters will face off with unique values and characteristics.
The goal of the project is that students will be exposed to quality literature that can be both educational and entertaining.
I plan to use a variety of topics, including the Olympics and voting in an election, to educate students on important events in the world. I also want to share fun new books to pique students' interests and help them connect events and happenings in the real-world to their academic learning.
The students at our school are special for so many reasons, including they all attend the same Pre-K through 12th grade school. This will be their very first year having a library. Many of these students come from rural homes, and while the students are hard workers, some may not have the same access and exposure to books and reading. Our students excel in many areas, and I want this first year to be an excellent experience in literature and reading as well.
