My Students

Students at my school are creative and starving for support. Most are from low-income​ homes and many are from broken homes. Despite their struggles, they have dreams and the desire to succeed. I want to take hold of those dreams and help them get on a solid path to make those dreams a reality! I want to get them excited about coming to the library and sharing books and technology that can change the course of their lives. You can be a part of this journey!

My Project

I have moved and accepted the position of Librarian/Media Specialist at an amazing school. This space has TONS of potential but really needs a gut job and someone from HGTV to come in and do their magic. I am not scared of the challenge, but need your help in a HUGE way! The district says they are going to paint the walls and pull the carpet to replace with tile. AWESOME! I want to make this the most favorite room on campus to encourage students to come in, sit and stay awhile. We need new furniture, artwork, visuals and more books for this to become a reality! We also want to create a special area for Makerspace activities. Makerspaces provide hands-on, creative ways to encourage students to design, experiment, build and invent as they deeply engage in science, engineering and tinkering.
