My Students

I run a library with 7th and 8th graders who have truly made the library their space. Students have created several spaces to promote their interests among themselves. We have a graphic novel section, puzzle-creating and board game centers, and chess and student book clubs meet in the library. These are just a few designated areas and interests that the library has drawn together.

In addition, the teachers bring their classes down to complete research, book selection, and projects using the technology and print materials in the library.

My Project

Students at OJH come to the school library on a daily basis to study, read, collaborate, and engage in group projects. Currently, our library is a bit worn and dated, and it could use some freshly updated spaces.

This Library Learning Lounge will provide students with a comfortable space to collaborate and create with their peers and teachers.

It will enable them an area to charge their devices and work in a small groups on student-centered projects. The new space will help create a warm and engaging atmosphere for students' creativity to shine.

Students will be able to work not only with their fellow students on group projects in this space, but they will be able to come and find some solitude to work on individual projects as well.
