My Project

Our school has a very diverse population of students coming from a wide range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. We serve a population from Pre-K to grade 8 and include those with physical and developmental disabilities. Our diversity is what makes us a first choice for families in our district.

As in many schools across the country, our school is committed to teaching students life skills about social and emotional learning (SEL).

But we do not have many books in the library that deal with these topics. Your donation will help us to purchase new books for our teachers and students to use to learn about the five competencies of SEL: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, decision-making, and relationship skills.

With your generosity, these new SEL picture books will be available in our school library for teachers to use in the classroom, and for students to check out for their own reading. Your donation will help put books about these very important topics into the hands of our students and help us in our goal of teaching students skills for happy and healthy lives in the years to come.
