My Students

Our high school in Florida is one of only five schools that offers a Criminal Justice Program. We currently have around three hundred students within the program, and it is a four-year academy. Our school is in a rural area and more than half of our students are from low-income households.

Students in the Criminal Justice Program are future leaders within our communities.

They are taught to display honesty, loyalty, and integrity within their daily lives and strive to be the leaders of our school. Our class motto is "Character is what you do when others are not looking."

My Project

I teach a four year program about Criminal Justice. Our motto is "Character is who you are when others are not looking." To have good character, one must have integrity. My third year students learn about how polygraph tests are not admissible in court, but are used everyday as a guide for detectives to learn the truth about a suspect. They also learn that polygraph tests are used in the hiring process for all police officers. I am looking to purchase a lie decor board game and this inexpensive polygraph machine to have fun with our learning and to see if they are telling me the truth.
