My Project

My exceptional learners all have autism, and they are all unique in their own way. Because of this, we need to teach them in the unique way that they can learn best! Some of my learners use iPads to communicate; therefore, the use of technology in my classroom would be beneficial to help them learn during academic activities throughout the day. A way to help incorporate technology during these activities is to invest in an iPad to give all my students as many opportunities to learn using different modalities.

We use an online reading curriculum called Lexia Core5 Reading.

Lexia provides a systematic and structured approach to six critical areas of reading. The program creates personalized learning paths for students of all abilities through an adaptive placement and scaffolded activities that align to rigorous standards.

We use our main iPad to administer our end of the year assessments during the Spring; therefore, that puts a halt to using this amazing curriculum and resource! Help our class gain an extra iPad; this way our students can still use this reading curriculum during such a critical time for educators.
