My Project

My middle school students live in a small, active, and supportive community, however, their families are far from being affluent with over 50% qualifying for free and reduced lunch. They love learning new things especially if they have the opportunity for choice and to infuse creativity. My students enjoy independent work as well as team collaborations.

As I continue to "STEM-ify" and grow Tech integration cross-curricula, we need to continue to upgrade our gen 1 FlashForge Finder 3D printers for students: to continue to level-up their design process and output, to be engaged innovative learners today, and to become future leaders tomorrow.

With 3D designing, I find they are truly 100% engaged. But, better yet, they are developing grit! They welcome the ability to fix and reprint their design. With this Adventure 5M, we are looking forward to having fewer leveling issues and better quality prints. We are now going on 5 years with our original 3D printers and my students are demonstrating thoughtful designs and redesigns as they create their solutions to challenges given. Having a printer that auto levels and prints faster will be a huge improvement for our "turn-around" time.
