My Students

My students are an enthusiastic, friendly, and diverse group of kids. What makes my school so special is that the students come together from various cultures and perspectives to create a warm and positive environment.

Our classroom is a family of diverse personalities, cultures, and learning styles.

Together, we strive to respect and care for one another. Many students are English learners, and some students come from low income families. Together, we create a family who strive to grow and learn together.

My Project

I strive to provide interesting and meaningful texts to my students to read both independently and in guided reading groups. With “just right” books, the students will be able to practice skills such as decoding, fluency, and expression. The students will also be able to practice reading comprehension skills such as retelling, making predictions, and making connections to texts. Leveled readers that are both contemporary and interesting will engage all readers. The leveled readers will also target all readers below, at, or above grade level expectations. The students will be able to use the readers now and for many years to come.
