My Students
My students are an energetic and curious bunch of kiddos! They come to school every day with smiles on their faces, eager to learn, despite some of the tough situations they come from. They are thrilled to learn and grow, every day, no matter what challenges they face in their home lives!
Our classroom is a community where the students can feel excited, included, safe, and successful!
Access to hands-on learning materials and books is necessary for their success and engagement in their learning. They are so appreciative of the opportunities that they have to grow as a community of learners together in our classroom!
My Project
Many of my students come from a socioeconomic status that does not allow them the ability to purchase books for their homes. In order to best support my students reading success they need to have access to books that they can read at home.
This project would give my students access to more fiction and nonfiction texts on their individual reading levels, which would help them learn about a wide variety of topics.
By providing my students with books at their level to take home to practice reading skills will surely increase engagement and further their love of reading.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
