My students need books for our classroom library that are appealing and comfortable for them to read during our Daily 5 time.

My Students

It is important I provide all my students with the best chance to succeed and foster their love of reading. I'd like for my students to be at or above the First Grade reading level by the end of the year.

It is my job, as their teacher, to eliminate the learning gap and engage them in exciting and meaningful instruction.

My students are the happiest learners and I will do all I can to support and ease them into this very important transition in their lives, reminding them learning and growing can be fun!

My Project

My first grade classroom needs to expand the classroom library with real, authentic books that are on their reading level to use during independent, guided reading, and choice time. All students should have access to books that are on their reading level.

I would like to expand my classroom and guided reading library to included these books that meet the needs of my students.

These books will increase in difficulty as my students learn and advance to higher reading levels. The excitement that I see in my first graders when I am able to put brand new books in their book baskets is priceless. They love to read the new books because they have a love for new and unique things!
