My Students

I feel very lucky to teach at a school with a unique population of students. We are a Title I school, and the majority of our students are from low-income families. When these students come to school, they feel safe, welcomed, and happy.

It means a lot to me to be able to provide these students with the materials they need, and also an engaging and nurturing learning environment.

It is my hope that my projects can be funded so that I can further support their learning in my classroom.

My Project

In First Grade, we expect students to make huge growth as readers. In order for my students to make progress, it is important that they have books that meet their needs. By providing my students with books that are the correct reading level, they will become more confident when reading to themselves and their classmates.

These books will be used by many students for years to come!

I have chosen a bundle of 60 leveled books for my project. These books will add more variety to our classroom library, and give students an opportunity to read books that are "just right" for them!
