Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

First grade students have 7 reading levels to master in order to end the school year ready for second grade. The levels are the following 6/E, 8/E, 10/F, 12/G, 14/H, 16/I, and 18/J. All the levels include decoding, fluency, and comprehension. Having books available at each segment is key: students need to practice at their current level in order to move forward.

Having a wide variety of topics in both fiction and nonfiction at their current reading level affords the children the opportunity to practice and master their reading skills.

This experience allows them to get ready for the next level.
