One special moment was watching a student who typically struggles with spelling independently build a word correctly by tapping out each sound and confidently reading it back to me. The hands-on element has made phonics more engaging and has helped students truly see how sounds connect to letters.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the magnetic letters, they were so excited to \"play teacher\" at the board. They immediately wanted to start building their names and simple words they knew. The bright, movable letters made learning feel like a game, and engagement during centers noticeably increased. Next, we are continuing to build more complex words by adding digraphs and beginning blends as we move through our current phonics lessons.
