My students need a class set of Word Building Tiles to practice literacy skills and a Classroom Carry-All to organize the tiles for group or individual work.

My students are kindergartners and most of them live in extreme poverty. These students face many obstacles, yet they love to learn and are determined. They enjoy the challenge of learning to read. Since school began, in August, most of my students have progressed rapidly in their literacy skills.
My students love learning through educational games and manipulatives.
They need letter tiles that will allow them to practice phonics. I always try to find games and activities that will help them to learn the skills I am teaching while also ensuring that they enjoy the learning experience. My students are at various academic levels so I look for games and materials that can be utilized by our whole class while still meeting students at their individual academic level.
My students need more activities that focus on literacy. Letter tiles are versatile tools for learning. They can be used in multiple ways for whole group, small group and independent activities. My students will use these materials to explore letters, sounds and word building.
Success in early literacy is the foundation for future academic success.
It is important that student practice to recognize beginning, medial, and end sounds; to recognize letters and their sequential order; and to build words. Your donation to our project will give students additional practice using foundational literacy skills. This will improve our kindergarten classroom by building strong and ready readers.
