Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One of the most important things to master in kindergarten is correct letter formation! Learning proper letter formation helps students to remember the letters and their sounds and to write more legibly and efficiently! Handwriting is often overlooked in elementary classrooms. Our school has students in fifth grade that are still forming letters incorrectly.

This project will help me ensure that all of my students leave my classroom with great penmanship!

At the start of the year, we will mix the watercolor drops with shaving cream and practice our letters on our desks! Later we will use the hanging white board to write enormous letters on the wall (writing on vertical surfaces is so helpful for struggling students). Finally, we will transition to using pencils and the writing pads.
