My Students

Do you remember boring lessons where the teacher said, "Open your book and read the next lesson?" Well, I want my students to remember fun and engaging lessons with lots of color and sounds to catch their attention and be engaged while learning, instead of "reading quietly".

My fourth graders are from a diverse community.

They come from a variety of different cultures and parts of our large urban city. Each of them has had different struggles that their families have dealt with, however technology is a huge learning tool in our classroom that helps them thrive.

My Project

This tablet for the interactive white board will allow for more interaction between students during lessons and workshop times. Students can be up at the board writing sentences or math problems while other students use the tablet to collaborate with them.

Their families have been hit hard in the recession and do not have the luxuries to provide computers when they struggle to get dinner on the table.

My students work very hard at literacy and math, but due to Nevada's budget cuts we lack the resources to provide the students a well rounded experience.
