Items like pencils, paper, and Tri-Grip holders help students with fine motor difficulties write more comfortably and effectively. Timers support time management and transitions, reducing anxiety and increasing focus. Social-emotional games and resources foster emotional regulation, communication, and peer interaction skills. Even tools like a paper shredder can provide sensory input or teach responsibility through classroom jobs. Each item contributes to the overall goal of promoting independence, engagement, and academic and emotional growth for students with diverse needs.\r\n\r\nThe impact of these resources extends beyond daily instruction by empowering students to develop lifelong skills and a sense of belonging. When students are provided with tools that meet their individual needs, they are more likely to participate actively, take ownership of their learning, and persevere through challenges. These supports help educators tailor instruction, reinforce positive behaviors, and create predictable routines that promote safety and trust. Ultimately, investing in Special Education resources strengthens the entire learning community by ensuring every student has equitable access to success and the opportunity to reach their full potential.","fullyFundedDate":1764718327505,"projectUrl":"project/tools-for-thriving/9554215/","projectTitle":"Tools for Thriving","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Shipley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7433015_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754599180719","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7433015"},{"teacherId":7433015,"projectId":5967510,"letterContent":"The items provided had a powerful impact on my 2nd grade students by increasing engagement, confidence, and academic growth across content areas. Because our classroom includes a high population of English Language Learners in a Title I setting, it is essential that instruction is both rigorous and accessible. These resources allowed students to actively engage in math, reading, and language learning while directly supporting key standards, including RL2.1, RL2.2, RL2.3, RF2.3, RF2.4, 2.OA.A.1, 2.OA.B.2, and 2.NBT.A.1.\r\n\r\nThe reading games were used regularly during small group instruction, where they helped reinforce comprehension, phonics, and fluency skills in an enjoyable and meaningful way. Students who previously struggled were more willing to participate, take risks, and practice skills because learning felt fun and interactive. The math game supported students in building fluency with operations and number sense through hands-on practice, allowing them to strengthen foundational skills while collaborating with peers. These items provided multiple pathways for learning, meeting the needs of diverse learners and learning styles. As a result, students were more motivated, more engaged, and better able to apply what they learned both in the classroom and beyond.","fullyFundedDate":1635697871477,"projectUrl":"project/well-rounded-students-are-happy-students/5967510/","projectTitle":"Well Rounded Students are Happy Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Shipley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7433015_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754599180719","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7433015"},{"teacherId":8572432,"projectId":9720510,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for providing our classroom with these new resources! Our students have been actively using them during math and language lessons, and they have already made a big impact. One of our favorite moments has been during math time, when students use the timer to stay focused and manage their work time. The timer helps them build independence, pace themselves during problem-solving, and understand the importance of time management skills they can use both in and out of the classroom.\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were excited and eager to try them right away. The timer quickly became a class favorite, turning math practice into a fun challenge as students worked to complete tasks before time was up. Students also began using their notebooks to record vocabulary words, where they write definitions, draw pictures, and add examples. This has helped them better understand new terms and take ownership of their learning.\r\nNext, students will continue using these tools to deepen their understanding of math and language concepts. We plan to introduce more timed math activities to strengthen fluency and problem-solving skills, while expanding vocabulary notebooks to include reflections and real-life connections. Your generous support has created meaningful learning experiences, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to grow and learn together.","fullyFundedDate":1758281811952,"projectUrl":"project/equipped-to-learn-essential-supplies-fo/9720510/","projectTitle":"Equipped to Learn: Essential Supplies for Daily Growth","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. J.C.L","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8572432_orig.png?crop=225,225,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747762353107","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8572432"},{"teacherId":8572432,"projectId":9527420,"letterContent":"My students use the laminated math posters as interactive tools during our multiplication lessons, allowing them to visualize their thinking and work through problems step-by-step. They took turns writing, checking each other's work, and explaining their reasoning—something made easier because they could quickly erase and adjust their thinking.\r\nWhen the students first saw the new resources, their faces lit up with excitement. Many immediately asked if they could start using the posters and organizers because they loved the idea of writing directly on them and practicing without the fear of making mistakes.\r\nOur next steps include applying these tools to more complex problem-solving tasks, where students will use the graphic organizers to plan and explain their strategies in detail. We will also integrate the laminated posters into math centers so students can independently practice, reflect, and track their growth throughout the unit.","fullyFundedDate":1757683122180,"projectUrl":"project/keep-it-together-organizing-our-5th-gra/9527420/","projectTitle":"Keep It Together: Organizing Our 5th Grade Fun!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. J.C.L","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8572432_orig.png?crop=225,225,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747762353107","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8572432"},{"teacherId":7433015,"projectId":8015340,"letterContent":"The items selected for this project had a meaningful and immediate impact on our 4th grade classroom by supporting both academic instruction and students' social-emotional well-being. I am writing to share the meaningful impact that Scholastic News, Science Spin, and BrainPOP Jr. have had on my 2nd grade students during my first year teaching with the Clark County School District.\r\n\r\nI teach at a Title I school with a high population of English Language Learners. Our students come from many different communities across Clark County, bringing with them a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, and learning styles. Because of these resources, I have been able to provide rigorous, rich, and engaging learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of all learners.\r\n\r\nScholastic News and Science Spin have transformed how my students engage with reading, science, and social studies. These magazines allow multiple subjects to be taught through meaningful, real-world content while seamlessly integrating reading and writing skills. The inclusion of current events has sparked thoughtful discussions, strengthened speaking and listening skills, and helped students make connections between classroom learning and their everyday lives. The Spanish component has been especially impactful for our English Language Learners, giving them access to grade-level content while supporting language development and confidence.\r\n\r\nScience Spin has fueled my students' natural curiosity and love for hands-on science. They are excited to explore, ask questions, and apply what they learn through investigations and discussions. Even during remote learning experiences, these resources have kept students engaged, motivated, and eager to participate.\r\n\r\nBrainPOP Jr. has become a favorite in our classroom. The students light up when Tim and Moby appear on the screen. These characters feel like digital friends who guide students through complex concepts in a fun, accessible way. BrainPOP Jr. supports multiple learning objectives and Common Core standards while reinforcing vocabulary, comprehension, and critical thinking. Most importantly, it builds enthusiasm and confidence in learning.\r\n\r\nBecause of these supplies, my students are more engaged, more confident, and more excited to learn.
