My Project
We are a group of 3 special needs classrooms, 3 teachers and 5 instructional assistants. Among our classrooms, we have several students who we need to communicate about daily for a variety of reasons; behavior, medical, restrooming needs, etc. We currently are using our cell phones for most communications. However we would like to use walkie talkies for ease of access and reliability within the building.
Having walkie talkies will allow us to communicate instantly when an emergent need arises with our special needs students.
Not only will we be able to communicate within our department, but also with our buildings administrations, nurse and safety and security by linking to the same channel they use for communication. The additional walkie talkies can also be assigned to our Encore teachers (music, foreign language, computers, etc) who may have students in their rooms that don't have an instructional assistant with them during class, but might need to contact us if there was an emergent need. This will create a more safe and supportive environment for our most vunerable students.
