Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students will play dress up with doctor and nurse costumes while pretending to care for newborn babies. When students engage in pretend play, they need to negotiate and plan with one another, which is ideal for building their cognitive skills. The various costumes, dolls, and kitchen toys will give them an opportunity to play roles from different characters.

The students can practice caring for newborn babies, feed them with the baby bottles, and even practice changing their clothes.

The students can choose to recreate a doctor visit with the dolls or play family using the kitchen toys. They can continue the imaginative play and create small figurines with stick people. These stick people can be taken home where students can engage in play with their families.
