We are special needs students with limited verbal skills in a high need community looking to increase our independence, communication and social skills.

Our goal: -to increase independence by choosing pictures of ourselves completing tasks that we hope to accomplish for the day to put on our daily schedule chart -to use these pictures as conversation starters to help us to talk about our day--what we plan to do, and what we have accomplished -to help to clarify for others what we are trying to say, and to prompt other to ask us questions that will allow us to practice our social skills.

We need a camera and a photo printer to accomplish these goals because actual pictures of us completing tasks/places we want to go etc., will have more meaning than cartoon or animated examples from commercial software.

You can make it possible for us to meet our goals to be more self-reliant individuals, and to foster relationships with non-handicapped peers within our school as well as people in the community.
