Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from across the globe and face enormous challenges. We are a high poverty school and my students come from many backgrounds. Many are English learners and speak Spanish, Korean, Bengali, Tagalog, Russian, and more as their first language.
My students are a bright, motivated and incredibly diverse group of middle school students.
I am inspired by their hard work and dedication to learning. In the face of challenges, they are very resilient.
As a language arts teacher, I want to bring my love of literature, writing, and character development to my students as they navigate growing up in Los Angeles.
My Project
Scope Magazine will supply a year's worth of articles that touch the students' lives.
This project will help us scope out current events, historical happenings relating to issues of great importance.
I want to broaden the students' scope with Scope Magazine! There is such high quality writing contained in this resource. This will greatly enrich my students' understanding and give them a wider understanding of what is going on around them. There are print copies as well as a digital platform for students to access. There is so much great material that will be available for them to use all year. This subscription will provide enrichment opportunities, contests to motivate and inspire students, and so much more.
