The beanbag chair has quickly become a favorite spot for students to read, work independently, or take a short brain break when they need a change of space. The snacks have also been a wonderful addition, giving students a little boost when they are hungry and helping them stay focused and ready to learn. Seeing students excited about these simple additions has reminded me how much small comforts can make a classroom feel welcoming and special.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, my students were immediately curious and excited. They loved seeing the new beanbag chair become part of our classroom and were especially happy to know that they had a comfortable place to work or read. The snacks have also been appreciated by students who sometimes come to class hungry. These resources have helped create a classroom environment where students feel cared for while still keeping learning at the center.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue building a classroom community where students feel comfortable taking risks, collaborating, and challenging themselves academically. As we move through our current lessons, students will be reading, discussing texts, completing writing activities, and working together on projects. Having a fun, comfortable, and supportive classroom environment helps give them the space to focus on those goals. Because of you, our learning environment has transformed into a space that is not only functional, but truly engaging, calming, and supportive of diverse learning needs. As a Resource Specialist working with middle school students, many of whom have executive functioning challenges, sensory needs, and learning differences, these new materials have made an immediate and meaningful difference in how my students access their education.\r\n\r\nFrom the moment my students walked into the classroom and saw the, sensory supports such a putty, and organized supplies such as dividers and Snacks!!!, their reactions said everything. There was excitement, curiosity, and for some, a sense of comfort that I had not seen before. Students gravitated toward the bean bags and loved the rug to relax while reading. Instead of resisting work, they were more willing to engage, stay seated longer, and participate in lessons. For students who often struggle with regulation and attention, this shift has been powerful.\r\n\r\nWe are using these resources daily across all subject areas. During small group instruction of exective functioning skills, students are choosing seating that best supports their focus, which has led to increased on-task behavior and improved work completion. I'm teaching a lesson using our \"travel-themed\" executive functioning unit, where students planned a trip and created structured itineraries. Sitting in the flexible space allowed them to think, discuss, and organize their ideas more effectively than ever before.\r\n\r\nAnother major impact has been the organization system made possible by the storage materials you provided. Students now have clear, structured access to supplies, which reduces downtime, confusion, and frustration. For many of my students, organization is a significant barrier to learning, and having labeled, accessible materials has helped them build independence and confidence. I've already seen students begin to self-initiate grabbing what they need without prompting and returning items appropriately.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue building on these successes. Our next steps include expanding our executive functioning curriculum by integrating self-monitoring systems and goal-setting routines within this improved environment. Students will track their progress, reflect on their learning behaviors, and continue developing skills that will support them beyond my classroom. We are also incorporating more project-based learning opportunities, where students can use the flexible space to collaborate, problem-solve, and apply academic skills in real-world contexts.\r\n\r\nYour support has not just provided materials it has created opportunities. You have helped build a classroom where students feel safe, supported, and capable. For many of my students, that feeling is the foundation they need to succeed.\r\n\r\nWith deep gratitude,\r\nThank you for believing in my students.\r\n\r\nSincerely,","fullyFundedDate":1773439900859,"projectUrl":"project/organized-success/9999245/","projectTitle":"Organized Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Deleon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9201494"},{"teacherId":109409,"projectId":9568518,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting our class through all the changes we've gone through. The students also enjoyed adding the sensory stickers to their notebooks to take a mindful moment to breathe and feel the tactile effects. Hand wipes are great for a quick clean up, but the hand soap is really wonderful. Daily students use the hand soap to wash their hands, helping them stay healthy.
