Let's Roll: Interactive Language Arts Games for the Classroom

Help me give my students new language arts writing games to add some interactive and social learning to concepts around poetry, persuasion, and metaphors with these games.

My Project

In today's classroom our students need a variety of ways to engage with learning new concepts and mastering them.

These three game projects will be used throughout my ELA classes to promote tackling persuasive techniques, metaphor/simile, and creative writing.

Every year we teach persuasive writing, expository writing, and creative narrative writing (and poetry) as core writing. The metaphor dice, snake oil game, and paint chip writing games will all be used to create writing stations throughout the school year that get students socializing about writing techniques. Games are a great social skill, but with content related to our core writing, they will also help reinforce our learning.

My middle school students appreciate learning in new ways, especially methods that have them interacting!
