Let's Rock! & STEM-ulate Creativity through Music and Art Projects!

Help me give my students music, art and paper supplies for projects we do throughout the year for hands on learning and creativity. We will explore sound with the 15-player Rhythm Set and design our own musical instruments!

My Project

All students love music and art! Unfortunately, since COVID, our school has been faced with numerous staffing challenges including Music and Art teachers. With the 15-piece Rhythm Set and the Chinese Gong, students will explore musical instruments and how sound is made. They will learn how different objects make different sounds due to the vibrations they create based on their design. Students will then be presented with a STEM Challenge to Design their Own Instrument that must produce sound. They will present their instruments made of art materials from the classroom and recycled materials from their homes to the class to demonstrate how sound is made. The colored paper and other materials will be used to decorate their creations. For the finale, we will perform as a class band! I am so excited to see their creations and what their little minds can come up with!
