Let's Read with BOB Books! Beginning Readers for My Scholars!
Help me give my students a personal library of BOB Books to read at their desks.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Nelson's classroom raised $636

My Students
All students are diverse and energetic 5 and 6-year-olds in a southern Arizona Title I STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) school.
And 99% of our students qualify to receive free lunch.
Most are English Language Learners, including refugees from Africa, Asia, Mexico, and the Middle East. All coming from low-income households. School is often the first place my students are exposed to literacy, math, and STEAM activities in English. They come from homes where education is often not a priority, making the initial readiness gap wider. They strive to do their best against the odds and are always excited to come to school and learn.
My Project
We're returning to the classroom! Please help me build a personal library for each of my students. Due to the pandemic, students will not be able to share our classroom library books. READING IS SO IMPORTANT! I would love to provide my students BOB Books to encourage a love for reading and build confidence in their reading abilities.
BOB Books are beginning readers that are engaging, fun, repetitious, and focus on word families, sight words, and simple and complex sentences.
With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of book titles that will allow them to read independently at their desk. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
